Mirabelle plum harvesting

It isn’t summer in Lorraine without mirabelles. Lined-up in the orchards or pampered in backyard gardens, it’s the season when the mirabelle plum trees overflow with fully-ripened fruit. After 15 August, the harvest can begin. To gather these round, golden-yellow plums, either pick them by hand, or shake the trees and marvel as they fall like golden rain. All that’s left to do is bend down and fill up your basket before tasting this 100% Lorraine treasure.

The joys of swimming

Fancy taking a dip? Get in holiday mode at one of the more than forty outdoor sites perfect for swimming. Those looking for relaxation or walks along the water flock to lakes, like Gérardmer or Madine, ponds and water sports centres to enjoy their diverse natural beauty. The equipped beaches are just asking for your towels and picnic baskets, to savour with your feet in the water.
