In 2010, the meticulous high standards produced by the town gardeners was rewarded by the Golden Flower Award, a supreme distinction given by the National Board for Towns and Villages in Bloom.Their excellence in creating contemporary gardens by incoporating the town heritage, is admired by all throughout the streets.A numbered trail with twenty or so floral gardens with surprising bold ephemeral compositions can be admired from June to September in the town, the public parks and in the garden for Peace and a map is available at the tourist Office.
