An outstanding summer holiday destination, Gérardmer is also a great resort for winter sports with endless possibilities.
Les Bas-Rupts Nordic ski area has 30 km of marked, tracked trails for classic or skate-skiing. The area has 9 trails for all levels. For even more cross-country skiing, it’s connected to the trails of La Bresse and Xonrupt-Longemer, for a total of 100 km of marked trails in the heart of the largest Nordic ski area in eastern France. Snowshoeing is also on offer, with 3 circuits starting at Les Bas-Rupts and 2 circuits starting at Les Hautes-Vannes (when there isn’t enough snow at Les Bas-Rupts). For a stress-free holiday, there are several equipment hire shops at the base of the trails with skis, pulkas and baby-snows. Another plus for the resort: accommodation and restaurants at the starting point of the trails.
For downhill enthusiasts, there are more than 20 slopes at La Mauselaine ski resort (including the longest in the Vosges at 2,900 metres).
