Looking for thrills? Head to La Schlucht ski resort in Le Valtin! With a more than 3 hectare snow park, you’re free to ski or snowboard to your heart’s content.

For those looking for a more low-key holiday, strap on your skis and ride down one of the resort’s two blue runs or head out for a lovely snowshoeing hike. Equipment hire on site.

For board sports enthusiasts, check out the 2 “big air” runs and hit some jumps all while enjoying the music in the “cool zone”. More experienced riders can also experience the “wood zone” and slalom through the more than one hectare area surrounded by pine trees. There’s also a 700 m boardercross run, a 6 m cannon box, rails and boxes for all levels. Plenty to enjoy! The boldest of riders can try out the famous drum in the middle of the park. When there’s enough snow cover, snowscooting is also available. The resort is known for its festive atmosphere and organizes events all season long: jam sessions, DC Days, open rides and more.

What to see and do nearby:

• Schlitte Mountain La Bresse-Hohneck: a 900 m long “new generation” toboggan coaster alternating banked turns, waves, jumps and 340° twists for thrills all year long.
• Hautes-Vosges confectionery in Plainfaing: the sweets here are made in the traditional way with natural flavourings or essential oils. The family-owned company offers free guided tours.
