Hôtel collenel

This vast protected Hôtel Particulier (listed as “Monument Historique”) is composed of two buildings and has had two periods of construction. The house between the yard and the garden was built in 1537 by Saladin d’Anglure, baron of Bourlémont. It was restored and it still has its beams and chimneys, and it showcases an important collection of Lorraine sculptures, from the 12th to the 18th century. After the ravages of the Thirty Years' War, the hotel was rebuilt and decorated in the 18th century by the members of the Collenel family, ennobled in 1702. The monumental door, dating from 1758, kept its animal decor, and the dining room its a beautiful demonstration buffet-cupboard. Sold as National Asset in 1795, the Hôtel Collenel has since only undergone minor modifications. This private house, jewel of Place Jeanne d’Arc, is open to visitors free of charge during the summer.
