The castle was one of the favourite residences of the Dukes of Lorraine and is also associated with the Sierck family. Perched high on a rock, it dominates the town and the winding Moselle River. Built in the 11th century, rebuilt and altered over the years of war, it has a defensive position over 3 countries and the view is breathtaking. The castle has both permanent and temporary exhibitions and shows evoking medieval life.
