Located since the 8th Century in the Woinville forest, it was transferred to its actual location in 815 under the impulsion of Abbot Smaragde, counselor of Charlemagne. The Abbey is renovated in the 9th century then further in the 17th and 18th centuries thanks to abbots dom Hennezon and dom Maillet. The church and the library are the only two visible parts.
