Located in the heart of the Nied area, this estate shows Lorraine at its very best and is appropriately built of Jaumont stone. The furniture is also typical of the region. History is equally at home here, far in the past with the Dukes of Lorraine’s hall or closer to the present with the frescoes and paintings recalling the hard life of Lorraine’s miners. In fact, this warm convivial house pays homage to the past. Just look at its entrance hall, its wood panelling and the magnificent mezzanine where you’ll find the breakfast room and reading room. Five restaurants, a bar opening onto a patio, a cigar smoking area, a relaxation and fitness centre called “Ethnique Voyage” and the outdoor heated swimming pool make this a place where life is sweet. The 17 spacious rooms are furnished in cherry wood. Two of the rooms are designed for families, two have disabled access and the three luxury suites with mezzanine floor add the finishing touches to this comfortable ambiance. In fine weather, the patio and its gigantic fireplace used for succulent spit-roasts are a true delight.
Cuisine
Vegetable garden, orchard, local produce - Jean-Marie Visilit has all he needs to work simply, with nature, creating a local cuisine that is as full of the taste of fruit as it is subtle. Among his signature dishes is Roast Suckling Pig from the Diesen farm and the Master Roasting Chef also smokes his own salmon.
